Ulrike Mittlböck
Born and raised in Vienna, Ulrike continues to call the city home.
With a background in business, she initially worked in tax consultancy after completing her business studies. About two decades ago, she embarked on her artistic journey, gradually mastering a variety of painting techniques. Following numerous exhibitions, she has been a full-time freelance artist since 2017.
Ulrike began her artistic exploration with watercolours but gradually gravitated towards textured works using bold acrylic and oil paints. Beyond traditional canvases, she also paints on aluminium panels, incorporating the reflective qualities of the metal into her artwork. Her enduring love for impressionism is evident in her choice of themes and their execution.
Through her art, she strives to capture fleeting moments, moods, and impressions that inspire her. Scenes from Tuscany, Provence, and Lake Garda often feature in her works, where she portrays light and atmosphere based on her unique perspective.
In addition to her impressionist works with distinct motifs, she also creates a series of abstract paintings. These focus on the dynamic interaction of colours and textures, emerging through free, intuitive, and spontaneous compositions. These abstract pieces invite individual interpretation and are intended to evoke moods such as joy or serenity. They often draw the viewer’s eye toward distant points, highlighted by subtle accents of light.
Across all her works, Ulrike prioritises beauty and aesthetics, aiming to instill a sense of comfort and positivity in her audience. Her art focuses on life’s uplifting aspects, offering a message of optimism amidst the challenges of the modern world.
